The notion of a candle holder as a durable and precious product of utility is questioned by this object that is beautifully destroyed in the course of its use. Winter evenings will never be the same.

Merging the support and the candle in wax CANDLE #1 stresses the object’s temporary nature. In doing so it puts the poetics of use against the mere adornment of an opulent artifact.
