Craft over the last century has in many ways been defined by how it has opposed and set itself against the industrialization of its disciplines. In many ways it has troubled itself over this issue yet never come to terms with it. Ian Stallards Cable vase, seems to be addressing this to some extent. The end result being a ghostly and subtle patina created by decorating the handcrafted porcelain with the ubiquitous domestic detritus of cables and cable ties.
